Morley and Outwood will be a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It will elect one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election.
This is the successor seat to Morley and Rothwell. The Rothwell element is now in a newly formed constituency of Elmet and Rothwell, and the village of Middleton is being transferred into Leeds Central.
[edit] Boundaries
Following their review of parliamentary representation in West Yorkshire, the Boundary Commission for England have created this new cross-border constituency as a consequence of the county losing one parliamentary seat following population decline.
The electoral wards used to form this seat are:
- Stanley and Outwood East and Wrenthorpe and Outwood West from Wakefield
- Ardsley and Robin Hood, Morley North, and Morley South from Leeds
[edit] Election results
Morley and Outwood will be fought for the first time at the UK general election in 2009 or 2010
