Moreton, Oxfordshire
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Moreton-in-Marsh is a village in the East of Gloucestershire is not to be confused with two neighbouring villages, North and South Moreton, in the old Moreton Hundred in South Oxfordshire, the current small settlement (but in previous times a larger village) of Moreton, a mile to the South-West of Northmoor in Oxfordshire, and also the small hamlet of Moreton, near Thame in Oxfordshire.
The town is located in the Cotswolds region of England, and may also be confused with being in Oxfordshire, because the nearby town of Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, lies only eight miles away.
Moreton simply means "habitation on a marsh".
