The Morelia Bredli, or the Centralian carpet python, refers to a species of snake which is closely related to Morelia spilota.
[edit] Description
It is brown to redish above with dark bars along its back. Yellow to pale cream below. Confined to a small area of the northern territory, it lives in very arid desert locations. Normally arboreal inhabiting ranges and rocky outcrops.
[edit] Within captivity
Centralian carpet pythons are easy to handle and maintain if looked after properly. Bredli's need to be kept at a warm temperature Between 26 and 32 degrees Celsius during summer and a few degrees less in winter(if you wish for them to hibernate). The tank should have a warm and cold end so the snake can decide its own temperature and find a good spot. They should have access to clean cool water all the time, (although they rarely use it). Feeding should be regular at 7 to 10 day intervals depending on the size of food and the snake. Some Centralians tend not to like rats. If this is the case young chickens or hamsters can be fed. When shedding Centralians can become slightly agitated and aggressive, you will be able to tell by their milky eyes and paler less defined colourations on their skin. Their skin may also apear loose and wrinkly. As seen in the picture below.
