Moravan Otrokovice
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Moravan Otrokovice (Otrokovice is a location) is a Czech (and Czechoslovak) aircraft company.
The company was founded in 1934 and since then has built over 5,600 aircraft. It is best known for its training and acrobatic planes, such as the Zlin 242.
After the fall of socialism (1989) in Czechoslovakia, the company was forced to compete on the international market. In 2001 the company bought collapsing competitor Let Kunovice, but they both collapsed in 2004. The current situation is unclear but the outlook is bleak ([1]). The company is still in operation as of November 2006.
