[edit] Story

Rincewind the Wizard and his pet ape, while completely drunk, come across what they ascertain to be a bomb, and try to defuse it. Instead, they make it go off prematurely, and accidentally blow up Death, who happens to be flying by.

The next morning, Rincewin wakes up (in a jello mold) to find that with death gone, no ones soul is being taken to the great beyond, and anyone who dies will just sit there on earth. The dead are not to happy about this, and Rincewinds dead friend (who's funeral was the cause of Rincewinds partying) threatens him into finding and helping out Death. Later on Rincewind comes into contact with Death, and finds that he is fine and dandy, but simply on an indefinite vacation. Rincewind must then go to find Death and convince him to reclaim his post.
