Can anyone tell me why it is often said about eukaryotes that they only produce monocistronic mRNAs, if chloroplasts (and mitochondria?) do have polycistronic mRNA?! Or are endosymbionts supposed not to be integral part of the eukaryotic cell, genome? Axeloide 12:01 Jan 4, 2003 (UTC)
