Talk:Monkey's Bum

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

My information on the Monkey's Bum ends at 1977. Does anyone know where the Monkey's Bum Deferred comes from or when it gained popularity? Melchoir 07:27, 9 November 2005 (UTC)

Is there a Template:chess that would feature a link to chess notation, and that would be acceptable to move into this article? I'm loathe to fiddle in an area I know so little about, but a link to chess notation early on would be handy. However, I can't see a smooth place to put it. It wouldn't do much good at the bottom of the page, and I don't want to just shove it in anywhere and start the heat death of this article. Skittle 16:06, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

Knowing where you want to go, and clicking on the category links at the bottoms of the pages, the shortest route I can find to Algebraic_chess_notation is 6 clicks. It would be good to introduce this, and a link to chess, somewhere early to ease navigation and understanding. But again, I don't want to contribute to the drip-drip-drip of random phrases, and I can't see somewhere to put them unless chess opening in the first sentence is changed to chess opening. Okelly-dokelly, sorry for so much talking to myself. I have been bold and added the info, since this page seems rather dead (November, last post) and I had an inspiration above. Feel free to rejig, remove, create templates, add tiny writing at the top of the page, etc. Skittle 16:19, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

Looks good! Melchoir 16:23, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
Thanks. I'd rather get the explanation/link for notation in before the first use of it, but I don't see how to do that without spoiling the introductory flow. Skittle 16:28, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
