[edit] Timur did not destroy the Georgian monarchy

By stating that Timur the Lame annihilated the feudal system, it now seems to suggest he put the smack down on Georgia. Nonetheless, Georgia was free until a dark time in 1801. Nehru 04:20, 04 April 2006 (UTC)

Timur destroyed what is generally known as the united Georgian kingdom though the breakaway kingdoms maintained their precarious independence until the 19th century. Kober 09:45, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

No Timur had never destroyed united Georgian kingdom. The united kingdom desintegrated into several states only in 1460's, more than a half a century after Timur's invasions. Pirveli 10:26, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Recovery after Mongols

The statement at the end of the first para is inaccurate -- Georgian kingdom could never recover from destruction so to "restore much of its former strength and prosperity" after the Mongol rule. Things went downhill ever since. Alsandro 07:28, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

George V managed to restore the unified Georgian monarchy, but it was short-lived. Timur inflicted the final blow to the nation. Kober 09:45, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
