Montgomery (Welsh: Trefaldwyn) is a town lying in Powys, Wales (Cymru). It is known for the remains of its castle, begun in 1233 by Henry III of England, for its well-preserved section of Offa's Dyke and for the old story of 'The Robber's Grave' where no grass will grow. Historically it was the county town of Montgomeryshire
Attractions in the town include Montgomery Castle, The Old Bell museum, and near by, the Montgomery Canal and the Offa's Dyke Path. The town is only about 2 miles west of the present-day border with England.
