Marylin shows her daughter how to cook wienerschnitzels but winds up eating all of them. In bed with her husband, Martin (Erland Josephson), Marylin burns their blanket. Martin decides to invite a psychologist over for dinner with the pretext that he's there to look at Martin's father, who is increasingly senile. But Marylin sees right through this and knows that the psychologist is there to examine her.
