Montenegrin Federalist Party

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Montenegrin Federalist Party (also known as the Montenegrin Party) (locally Crnogorska federalistička stranka) was a Montenegrin political party in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. It carried on with a Zelenaši platform, drawing its support from the defeated Montenegrin royal movement.

Its leader was Sekula Drljević, while one of its chief idealogues was Novica Radović. The part was part of the Peasant-Democratic Coalition. The party was significant in the proclamation of the Fascist Italy-created Independent State of Montenegro during World War II. The state soon fell, but Montenegro became a federalized republic of communist Yugoslavia. With Drljević dead from the war, the party ceased its activity.
