Monte Vista, Ma On Shan

Monte Vista (Chinese: 翠擁華庭) is a private residential estate located at 9 Sha On Street, Ma On Shan, Shatin District, Hong Kong. The residential estate is right next to the Wu Kai Sha Station (the terminus of KCR Ma On Shan Rail) and its associated bus terminal. It is also close to the village of Wu Kai Sha and the Ma On Shan Country Park. The residential estate was developed by the Cheung Kong Group. The construction started in 1996 and was completed in 2000. In Monte Vista, there are 12 blocks of residential buildings. Each of them has 36 storeys. There is also a club house in the residential estate.

The name "Monte Vista" is a Spanish name, which literally means "mountain view". The name reflects the recent trend to use non-English European languages (i.e. Spanish, French or Italian) to name tower block estates in Hong Kong.
