Monte Grande (Portuguese meaning large mountain, Capeverdean Crioulo, ALUPEC or ALUPEC: Monti Grandi, also in teh Sal Crioulo) is a mountain in the eastern part of the island of Sal in Cape Verde. The small mountain range runs from southwest to northeast and its length is nearly 1.5 km and the width is between 800 m and 1 km.

[edit] Geography and Information
The mountain are made up of rocks with soil colours being orange-like, tan and light brown. The mountain contains slopes and a few ledges. The mountain features no vegetation and are surrounded by desert. The mountain is next to the crater of Pedra da Lume where it is famous for its salt mines, the rest are only surrounded by a flat desert, its nearest mountains are distant and there are only two located approximately 5 km apart.

It offers a panoramic views of almost the entire island as well as Serra Negra to the south, several villages around the area including nearby Feijoal, Espargos, Palmeira, Fontona and Murdeira as well as its airport and roads, and the Atlantic Ocean can be seen to the west.
