Monsterbowl is an online MMORPG where Managers take control of an American Football style team of players of every shape and size and lead their team to victory in the Battleball league. This is done by scoring Touchdowns whilst taking down your opponents runners and defending your backline

Contents

[edit] Overview

Monsterbowl is not like other MMORPG Management games where the game decides which skills that your non playable characters that you obtain whilst play. Each of your team's players level-up independently. Each time a player levels you can choose to enhance their Stats or give them new skills.

While all decisions are made by the manager (you) all in game "decisions" are random. For example when buying a rookie his stats are Random (normally distributed). Additionally all "tests" during game play are random, for example seeing if a throw is completed or if an injury occours. Obviously higher stats and better skills help to change the chance of success in your favour."

[edit] Races

There are 4 races within the game - each with their own strengths and weaknesses, Each race has Different skills and stat points to start with depending on which team you start with

[edit] Humans

These are the Joe standard teams - have equal stats and are the easiest teams to manage

Starting Stat points Strength 16-24 Speed 16-24 Stamina 16-24 Ball Control 16-24 Toughness 16-24

[edit] Orcs

These are like 10 Mike Tysons on the field , Added stats for Strength and Toughness stats but they have lower speed, stamina and ball control stats to make up for it, if you like to injure teams, then pick orcs, Beginners may also find this team easy to manage

Starting Stat Points Strength 18-26 Speed 12-18 Stamina 12-18 Ball Contol 12-18 Toughness - 18-26

[edit] Elf

These are the complete opposite to Orcs - They prefer to Run instead of fight and because of this have lower stats in Strength and Toughness but have Higher Speed, Stamina and Ball Control to make up

Starting Skill Points Strength 14-20 Speed 20-28 Stamina 20-28 Ball Control 20-28 Toughness - 14-20

[edit] Skeleton

As you expect with your regular undead things, these are slow and weak, but these players only spend half the time on the floor if knocked down and have unlimited stamina so do not slow down due to fatigue.

Starting Skill points Strength 12-18 Speed 12-18 Stamina 0 Ball Control 12-18 Toughness 12-18

Relentless Epic quick rise

[edit] Facilities and transfers

There are options in the game to spend some money on buying a restaurant and medical facility to help your team, these cost money in the weekly bills (your players get paid with the money on this)

There is also the ability to upgrade the Arena where the teams play from adding extra seats to boosting the teams abilities in training

Also managers can get rid of any unwanted players by selling them on the transfer market , and also spend more money on upgrading their squad to help in the league

Dependent on which race you are - you get a certain number of Upgrades that the team may use at any one point

[edit] Restaurant

[edit] Staff

The game is managed by Trilosoft HB - a worldwide company which makes online games

The game has 2 main staff levels

[edit] Administrator

These are the people who work full time at Trilosoft, making sure that the server runs properly and sorting out any problems which may occur within the game The Current game developers are Kristian and Fredrik (left the game in July 2006 but comes back occasionally to help out Kristian)

[edit] Moderator

these members of staff are in charge of the main games Forum and Chat modules in the game , and have the ability to delete any messages that they may seen too indecent to have The Current Moderators are Jarak and Kristian.

[edit] League

The game is split into 2 separate parts , the league and challenges, both are the main ways to earn XP and Gold for your players and where you find out if your team can hack it in the rest of the game

The League is where the main aim of the game takes place to win the Battleball league , the league system is split into a pyramid system, which is explained below, with each mini league having 8 teams within it where the teams within the league play each other twice over the season home and away.

It is also the most important thing in the game as it gives out the most experience points and gold within the game, which comes in handy when raising your players level

Each team plays 2 league games every week for 7 weeks and at the end of the season, the top team in every league promotes into the next level of divisions above and the bottom 3 teams demote/relegate to a league in the next level of divisions down

The league system works as follows

There is 1 Division 1 league - The top team is announced as the Champions of the Battleball league and the bottom 3 teams relegate to one of the three Division 2 Leagues where they swap with the Champions of the three Division 2 Teams

There are 3 Division 2 Leagues - each of the 3 leagues having 8 teams within, the Top team from each Promotes to the Division 1 and the 9 teams that finish in the bottom 3 places in each of the leagues relegate to one of the 9 Division 3 and the 9 winners of the Division 3 take their places in Division 2

This system is the same all the way down the system overall:

There is 1 Division 1 League having 8 teams within them; There are 3 Division 2 Leagues with 24 teams within the 3 leagues; 9 Division 3 leagues with 72 teams within the 9 leagues; 27 Division 4 leagues with 216 teams within them; 81 Division 5 leagues with 648 teams within; Division 6 is just filling up with new teams now , but eventually it will have 243 leagues with 1,944 teams.

all new teams enter at the highest available slot within the system.

At the end of the season , all teams that are top of their division swap leagues with one of the bottom 3 teams in the league above them and also the top 3 teams receive prize money in each division

[edit] Challenges

This type of matches lets teams play every other team they want , regardless of which league that they play in. Each team receives 1 challenge a day unless :- . They have bought extra challenges from the shop . They have bought a Gold Account from the shop . The team they previously challenged hasn't accepted the match or have declined the match

These games pay out not as much as league games , but come in handy for raising players levels Challenges only give gold and XP out for the first challenge, but your players will not receive any serious injuries that are sustained during a match either after your first game is played

Also in the challenge system , some members of the game use this system to create a cup

currently there is no cup system but teams use the forum to help create cups and to post results

some of the most famous cups are The Khala Cup, Jaraks Swiss Tourney, The MBOC, The Tower of Strength, Beginners Grand Championship, The Fanfuture league + Cup and The World Cup

[edit] Ranking

This is a secondary objective in the game - to become the number 1 player in the game - every time you play a game, your ranking place changes depending on your result in the games and again the league deals more to the rankings than a challenge match

[edit] Costs

The basic stuff meantioned above is all free , but there is a way to buy extra items so that you can change the appearance of your teams arena and Uniform, and to buy challenges to use

[edit] Extra Challenge Credits

Tis lets you play more than 1 game a day or even spend an extra credit to play a team that has already played their challenge for that day , but all that is affected from these extra challenges are their ranking place

[edit] Gold Account

A Gold account does the following....: • Pick your own team colors. • Choose your team’s uniform. • Advanced game viewer with standard media player controls. • Receive FIVE challenges every day. • Rename your players. • Customize the appearance of your arena. • Choose your own forum title. • Use bbcode to customize your team page and let other users rate it.

these come in two forms - a 30 day and a 90 day accounts
