[edit] Plot introduction
A woman in California finds herself at an oxygen bar, unable to remember anything except the fact that she was bitten in the shoulder by a dead man. Dick Walters, an employee of the National Institute of Health, is sent to investigate a case of scrapie at a ranch in Colorado, somewhere in the Rocky Mountains. Bannerman Clark, a Captain of the Colorado Army National Guard, is summoned to investigate an alleged riot at ADX Florence. All three witness first hand the nation-wide outbreak of a plague that makes corpses walk and eat the living.
