Monk's Hill Secondary School (Abbreviation: MHSS) (Simplified Chinese: 蒙克山中学) was a secondary school located near Newton Food Centre in Singapore from 1958-2006.
On the 14 May 2004, the Ministry of Education (MOE) announced[1] that under the programme PRIME Phase 6, Anglo-Chinese School (Junior) will be relocated to a new site at Winstedt Road in Jun 2007. This premises is 12, Winstedt Road Singapore 227978, where Monk's Hill Secondary School was situated.
Officially from Jan 2007, this premises was taken over by Anglo-Chinese School (Junior).
Also from Jan 2007, Monk's Hill Secondary School was merged into Balestier Hill Secondary School at 11, Novena Rise Singapore 307516. The merged school is known as Balestier Hill Secondary School.

[edit] Flag Lowering Ceremony 22 Nov 2006
Because of the closure of MHSS, a Flag Lowering Ceremony was held at 6.00pm 22 November 2006 at 12, Winstedt Road, MHSS Parade Square. A few hundred ex-Monkshillians from yesteryears turned up to witness the event together with the present staffs and students.

- Monk's Hill Secondary School is closing because of a drastic drop in enrolment.
- In year 2001, the school had 800 students. In year 2006, it has fewer than 300.
- The school has performed well and won the Academic Value Award in year 2005.
- The merging is not because of non-performance. It's an honourable closure.
The school flag was lowered as the school song was sang the last time. It was a sad and solemn moment for all. At the end of the ceremony, the school flag was presented to its Principal Mr Syed Mohamed Ashraf Shah for his entrustment and safe keeping.

The school’s history began in 1958 on a plot of land that was once the site of a Chinese monastery. The name ‘Monk’s Hill’ is a reminder of this piece of history.
- 1960 Monk’s Hill presented its first batch of candidates for the national School Certificate Examination.
- 1961 Monk’s Hill became an integrated school offering both English- and Malay-medium education to its intake of pupils.
- 1964 The school song was composed.
- 1967 It held its first Speech and Prize-Presentation Day.
- 1968 The School Advisory Committee was formed.
- 1976 The two mediums of education were merged and Monk’s Hill established itself as an English-medium school.
- 1989 The Alumni Association was formed.
- 1993 It became a single-session school when it shifted to its new premises at 12 Winstedt Road.
- 2000 The Parent-Teacher Support Group was formed.
- 2006 Flag Lowering Ceremony for closure of Monk's Hill Secondary School.
- 2007 Merge with Balestier Hill Secondary School.
