Mongala Province is one of the twenty-five provinces which forms the Democratic Republic of Congo.
It was only recognized as a province after the approvement of the 2006 Constitution, along with fourteen other provinces which were then approved.
It is located at the northwest of the country on the Congo river, and borders Tshopo, Bas-Uele, Nord-Ubangi, Sud-Ubangi, Équateur and Tshuapa.
The capital city of Mongala is Lisala.
