Mong Pan
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mong Pan is an area or township in the southern Shan State of Myanmar. To the south it borders Mae Hong Son Province in Thailand and lies west of the Salween River.
Originally, Mong Pan was one of the many smaller states that made up the Shan region of Myanmar, but later became the Shan State. It had a total area of 2299 square miles. In the center lies a large fertile plain, but is surrounded by many valleys and hills which reach a height of 5000 feet and are covered with jungle.
