Moneague College is a teacher training college situated in the small town of Moneague, Saint Ann, Jamaica on the main road between Kingston and Ocho Rios.

The college, which is well-known in the country is (partly) situated in the former colonial-era Moneague Hotel.

[edit] History

In 1891, the Moneague Hotel was built. During the years it passed hands as well as its function; during World War II it was a soldier's camp.

In 1956, Dr Aubrey Phillips founded Moneague College on the site of the former hotel. Today, the college has expanded. However the original colonial building of the hotel still stands and is currently used as student accommodation and administration purposes.

[edit] Footstep 11

In July 2007, Moneague College will play host to the Footstep 11 International Youth Conference. The environmental event is being organised by Global Footsteps and the UK based educational charity The Rendezvous Society.
