[edit] Episode recap

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

Garfield uses accordion music to wake Jon up one morning so that he can make blueberry pancakes for breakfast. In the middle of breakfast, Jon remarks that he’s sending a package to his Samoan pen pal; then he pulls a page off the calendar and reveals that it’s Monday. Garfield becomes horrified; then he takes Jon’s watch and programs it to ring as soon as Monday is over. He quickly goes to his bed to hide, but Jon says he’s being ridiculous and sends him outside to enjoy the day.

After it starts raining on him, he searches for a place to hide and comes across a shed that says Beware of the splut on the door. He opens the door anyway and gets splutted; then he goes to an open field for safety and soon a grand piano lands on him. He then walks home and sees Jon’s package on the porch. He decides that Samoan Mondays can’t be as bad as American Mondays, and he slips into the package.

After a bumpy flight, the package arrives in Samoa, and a Samoan cat brings it into his hut. He opens the package and Garfield jumps out, and after looking at Jon’s watch, he is relieved that Monday is over. The Samoan cat then informs him that the Samoan time zone is several hours behind the American time zone, thus Monday is just beginning there. Garfield runs away in horror; then he comes across another hut that has gorsh on the door. He opens the door and gets splutted, and the Samoan cat explains that gorsh is the Samoan word for splut.

Spoilers end here.

[edit] Quotes

Garfield: The sun’s shining; the weather’s warm; what could possibly go wrong? [Rain starts] The minute I said that, I knew I was gonna find out.
