[edit] Government
Monclova Township is an unincorporated township that works closely with Lucas County, Ohio. The township has four elected officials: three trustees that handle governing issues and a fiscal officer/clerk, who is responsible for record-keeping and financial matters.
Township government concerns itself with providing its residents with services that include the maintenance of township roads and ditches, fire protection, emergency services, garbage collection, township cemeteries and zoning.
Although township officials fill their offices on a part-time basis, they are available and ready to meet responsibilities face-to-face. Because of the intimate knowledge of the Monclova Township community, its needs and its people, the trustees are able to deal effectively with concerns.
Like any organization or unit of government township government is what the people make it. Your personal knowledge of who administers your township government and of the problems they face will make them more valuable to you.
Township government offers more personal service, more attention to individual needs, and a better understanding of local problems than any other form of government. It does this with lower cost and with a minimum of red tape because it is closest to those it serves.
