Monarch High School (MHS) is a secondary school located in Louisville, Colorado, and part of the Boulder Valley School District. The school was named a John Irwin School of Excellence for the 2004-2005 school year.[1]

- Monarch High School opened in 1998 to relieve overcrowding at Centaurus High School, drawing students from the east Boulder County towns of Louisville and Superior.
- The first graduating class was the class of 2001.
- 2002 4A Football State Champions beating the Golden High School Demons 42-35
- 2006 CBA 6th place Marching Band Finalists.
[edit] Campus
The 80-acre site, shared with the Monarch K-8 School, is named for the former coal mine beneath the area. The high school was designed by Klipp Collussy Jenks DuBois Architects and the landscape architecture was performed by Design Concept.[3]
In December 2004, high winds tore off a portion of the gymnasium roof. It gained national news coverage in passing as a clip illustrating the wind damage.[4]

- The former head boy, Lucas Brandl, became the first head boy to be impeached. There is a replacement due.
- The current head girl is Sam Novitsky.
