Did the Mongols really take over the whole of anatolia from the Byzantines? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.158.83.200 (talk • contribs).
- I dont think so. Maps I have show the furthest west was at Kayseri in eastern Turkey. No mention of the Mongols at Byzantine Empire also --Astrokey44 23:01, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
What about Taiwan? I was under the impression that even the Chinese did not have much control until the Qing dynasty.
The fact that, in this map, the Mongols have neatly conquered Iraq and Syria according to present day boundaries, without moving into Lebanon or Saudi Arabia at all, suggests that this map is not accurate at all. The same is the case in Eastern Europe, the Mongols have moved into Europe stopping at the border between the ex-USSR (Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine on this map) and the rest of the continent. Clearly they would not have been so precise and would not have had any regard for borders set 800 years after their conquest. Where did this map come from?
- I don't think this map is accurate worth shit.Cameron Nedland 22:29, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
Belarus was never conquered by Mongols. There were certain intrusions to Belarus that were successfuly stopped (the westernmost Mongol units reached to Hungary and Croatia that are not shown here as parts of the Mongol Empire). Later Belarusian Duchies united themselves into the Grand Duchy of Lithuania to resist Mongols. Please correct the map--Czalex 12:57, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
The Mongols conquered Hainan, but they did not conquer Taiwan. You have it the other way around. Please correct the map. -- ran (talk) 18:28, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
I have replaced most instances of this map with Image:Mongol Empire map.gif until all of the above concerns are addressed. -- ran (talk) 18:36, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
