Team Molteni was founded by Ambrogio Molteni, whose family owned a well-known salami company. A former professional rider, he sponsored and directed the Italian team which garnered 663 wins during its existence, its most famous rider being the legendary Eddy Merckx. Currently, the Molteni family continues its commitment to cycling with sponsorship of Team Salmilano.
