Moke (band)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Moke were a British rock band who released two albums and a handful of singles; most notably, My Degeneration, which reached no. 31 on the US Billboard chart in 2001.

Moke formed in London, England in 1997 and comprised of John Hogg (Vox), Sean Genockey (Guitar), Alex Evans (Bass) and John Morgan (Drums). Moke quickly signed to London indie label Dorado Records. The band recorded and co-produced a critically acclaimed debut album, Superdrag (1998). This led to a lucrative US recording contract; Superdrag was re-released in the US as a self-titled album. A second album, Carnival (2001), released on Ultimatum/Artemis Records.

Live performances were always Moke's tour-de-force, and the band toured the UK, Europe and the US extensively throughout their career, along with many acts, including The Black Crowes, Goo Goo Dolls, Tonic, Kings X, Spacehog and Senser.
