A Los Angeles-based hard rock band, formed in 2000 by songwriter-vocalist Jay Sosnicki and guitarist Drew Simon, who had previously plied their trade as a rock-accented acoustic duo. With the addition of a driving rhythm section in 2001, Mojo Rib began carving out a reputation as a high-energy live act. Guitarist Joe Favazza joined the fold in 2002, and the now five-piece band focused on a leaner, driving hard rock-meets-garage sound, influenced by the likes of AC/DC, Ted Nugent, Aerosmith, Van Halen and The Supersuckers. The band quickly found favor with hard rock, garage rock, and heavy metal fans, who found the group's irresistible hooks - and onstage bravado - a refreshing change from the dour "everyman" stance of the Alternative Rock era.

In 2003, the group signed to Los Angeles indie label Nuthing Sacred, releasing their eponymous debut, Mojo Rib, to solid notices, most notably from hard rock bible Kerrang!, who praised the group as "Rock Gods in waiting." Strong reception to the album on satellite radio and the addition of five tracks to a best-selling Activision PC game (True Crime: Streets of Los Angeles) helped raise the band's profile on a national level, as they continued to sharpen their incendiary stage show. The addition of new bassist Michael White and drummer Don McCurdy brought even greater focus to the group's writing and live performances.

The band entered the studio again in 2005 to record their follow-up with producer Scott Eric Olivier. The resulting album, In For Sin, was released in Summer 2006.
