Hello oblivious. I am glad that you are welcoming me. Please frogive me my ignorance but I would like to know how to place an image (a small picture file) in an article. I am not getting any wiser with the helps. There seems to be no simple way. Thank you againMohonu 12:05, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

No Mohonu, it is simpler. Let me break it down for you

1. You upload an image
   • Once you are done uploading, the image can be seen from Image Page - this isnt actual image, its a page - e.g. This image
2. Edit an article (or you can test it in your own sandbox) and place the image with Image Syntax
3. Do a preview before saving and if placing and appearence is as desired, save the page

Let me show you some image syntax here.

Image syntax	What it does	...and finally how it looks
[[Image:Maliku.jpg]]	This will place the image as it is, without any caption, any resizing
[[Image:Maliku.jpg|thumb]]	This resizes the image to default thumbnail size
[[Image:Maliku.jpg|thumb|left]]	This resizes the image to default thumbnail size AND aligns the image to the left
[[Image:Maliku.jpg|thumb|center|This is image caption]]	This resizes the image to default thumbnail size, aligns the image to center AND gives a caption to the image	This is image caption
