Mohsen Kharazi

Ayatullah Haj Sayyid Mohsen Kharazi (born in 1937 in Tehran) is a member of the Assembly of Experts of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He was a candidate for the 4th Assembly of Experts[1].

He is related to Kamal Kharazi.

He is a member of the Teachers Assembly in the Hawzah of Qom and the founder of Dar Rah Haqq , He is now teaching the advanced level of Fiqh. He has compiled and authored many remarkable books on Theology and Islamic Jurisprudence.

He was born in 1937 in Tehran. His father the late Sayyid Mehdi Kharazi was known for his piety and knowledge. He began the preliminary stage of his religious studies in Tehran with the lectures of Shaykh Muhammad Husayn Zahid, and later completed this stage with Shaykh Ahmad Mujtahidi Tehrani. He also learned literature in the Khan Marwi and Haj Abul Fath schools. At the same time he benefitted from Shaykh Hadi Muqaddas and Shaykh Abdul `Ali Tehrani in the field of Ethics.

In 1957 Kharazi migrated to Qom and entered the Hawzah there, where he could benefit from Ayatullah Shaykh Rahmatullah Fusharaki, Shaykh Mustafa I`timadi, Shaykh Muhammad Ali Mu`azza Dezfouli, Shaykh Muhammad Taqi Sotoudeh, Shaykh Ali Mishkini, and Shaykh Muhammad Shah Abadi at the intermediate stage. He also attended lectures at the Kharij stage under Ayatullah Sayyid Muhammad Muhaqqiq Damad, Sayyid Hasan Farid Araki, Sayyid Muhammad Reza Gulpaygani, and Shaykh Muhammad Ali Araki.

Kharrazi established an organization named "Dar Rahe Haqq" in 1964. In the same year he became a member of the Teachers Assembly of the Hawzah in Qom. After the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran Kharrazi became a representative for Tehran in the Assembly of Experts. He is now teaching the intermediate and advanced stages of Fiqh and Usool.
