Mohamed Moumou (born July 30, 1965) is a Swedish citizen of Moroccan descent who on December 7, 2006, was put on the United Nations list of foreign terrorists. He is the fourth Swedish citizen to be put on the list. His is also known as Mohamed Mumu, Abu Shrayda, Abu Amina, Abu `Abdallah and Abou Abderrahman.

Moumou was born in Fez, Morocco. According to the Morrocan weekly TelQuel, Moumou is one of the founders of the militant Moroccan Islamic Combatant Group (Groupe Islamique Combattant Marocain, or GICM)[1]. In March 2004, Moumou was arrested in Copenhagen, Denmark, after the Morrocan authorities had demanded him to be handed out for his alleged role in the 2003 Casablanca bombings[2]. He was released by the Danish authorities after a month and sent back to Sweden[3].

According to the United States Department of the Treasury, Moumou traveled to Afghanistan in the mid 1990s to participate in the al-Qaeda-run Khalden training camp[4]. According to TelQuel, Moumou was recruited in 1996 by Osama bin Laden's Lieutenant Ibn al-Shaykh al-Libi to serve as "sleeping agent" in Stockholm[1]. Moumou reportedly served, at some time in the past, as "Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's representative in Europe for issues related to chemical and biological weapons"[4]. He still reportedly maintains ties to "al-Zarqawi's inner circle" in Iraq[4].

Moreover, he is described as an "uncontested leader of an extremist group centered around the Brandbergen Mosque in Stockholm"[4]. He is also the editor of the Al Ansar newsletter connected to the Algerian Armed Islamic Group (Groupe Islamique Armé, or GIA)[1]. The Brandbergen Mosque has been described by the American terrorism analyst Evan Kohlmann as a "propaganda central" for the GIA.
