Mogra (also spelt Magra) is a town, police station and community development block in Hooghly district in West Bengal, India. It is in Chinsurah Subdivision. [1] It is a railway station on the Howrah-Bardhaman main line, 47 km from Howrah station, and 7 km from Bandel. [2]
All India Radio has located some of its high power transmitters at Mogra. These transmitters carry a mix of domestic and external services. [3]

The Chinsurah-Mogra Block in Hooghly district has a total population of 112,267, out of which 58,343 are males and 53,924 are females. [4]
With the partition of India there was a massive influx of refugees from East Pakistan into Kolkata and its peripheral areas. Of over a million refugees who entered West Bengal in 1950 alone settled mostly in squatter colonies between Naihati and Sonarpur on the east bank of the Hooghly and between Mogra and Uluberia on the west bank. [5]

Bagati near Mogra was the ancestral home of the Young Bengal leader Ramgopal Ghosh. [6]
