I read a Star Wars comic which shows that Grand Moff Tarkin outranked Darth Vader, who himself outranked even admirals. Seeing as I have never seen any specific Imperial rank mentioned for Darth Vader, I wonder if this was based on a ranking system or simply informal arrangements?

The "in-universe" explanation is that the Emperor placed Vader under Tarkin's authority, even though the Dark Lord technically outranked the Grand Moff. In "reality", The Darth Vader character was originally intended to be Tarkin's henchman, and Tarkin to be the main Star Wars villain. Lucas later changed this and expanded the roles of Vader and the Emperor. Custodes 08:16, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

--Supreme Moff?--

I have never heard of this rank anywhere in the SW universe, just on this page. Should I delete it, or is there really such a position? Custodes 08:16, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wrong word?

"Ironically, the term "Moff" is never actually used in any of the Star Wars movies, except in the credits."

Is ironically the best word to use in this sentence? I couldn't figure any other words out Talk User:Fissionfox 05:54, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
