Vandalism

Why? To lower your wikistress!! Plus I saw you were a wrestling fan, so I used the old WWF one!! I hope you at least enjoyed it?? Onthost 04:59, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

User Page award

Congratulations, Moe Epsilon! Your user page has been nominated for the Esperanza User Page Award! Five judges will look over your user page and award it 1-10 points in four categories:

  • Attractiveness: general layout, considering colour scheme and/or use of tables if applicable
  • Usefulness: links to subpages or editing aids, helpful information
  • Interesting-ness: quirky, unique, captivating, or funny content
  • General niceness: at the judges' discretion

But first, you must be chosen as a finalist. If your user page is chosen as one of the five finalists, you'll have the chance to win an award created just for having a great user page!

More information can be found on this page.

Thanks

Thanks for cleaning up my talkpage after vandalism took place, within 1.5 minutes after it happened. You beat me to it by several minutes. Wimvandorst 18:16, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

Your User page

Hmm... It looks the same to me. Try refreshing the awards page, then clicking. Smurrayinchester 18:38, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

Actually, projects looks off-centre on both versions of the page, down to where the userboxes stop, on both Firefox and IE. I'm not sure why though... Smurrayinchester 19:44, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

Your user page

Sure, go ahead. The pages have not been assigned to the judges yet as far as I know. Just make sure to leave a descriptive edit summary. Good luck! -- Rune.welsh 23:08, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

Admin's noticeboard

Hi SWD.

I notice you replied to David Gerard's comments on WP:AN. It's possibly worth pointing out that these last lines were jokes - "blocking 0.0.0.0/0" means blocking every IP on the planet from editing (hey, it would stop all the stupidity...), and meta:Friends of gays should not be allowed to edit articles is an old, long-running joke on Wikipedia stemming from the amount of vandals that seem to really, really want to tell us their friend Jeff is gay. Just thought I'd point this out before you get worried... this entire thing is a rather messy fiasco, but those bits were humourous :-) Shimgray 23:17, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

Any time!

Any time, hun - I told you, your page rocks! ;) Btw, keep me informed about your "problem", and remember, if you need any advice or help on the matter, I'll be here in case you need me ;) *Smooch* TTYL! Phaedriel 01:14, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

Requests for protection

Hi! I notice you requested Superbowl XL, Seattle Seahawks, Pittsburg Steelers be protected on WP:AN. In the future be aware that the correct place to request this is WP:RFP NOT, I repeat NOT the admin noticeboard. Please use the appropriate venue, thanks!  Alkivar 05:13, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

Re: Patronized

That's ok. The use of those bluelinks irritates me somewhat, and I was already irritated by Linuxbeak's faintly ridiculous approach to the situation. I mean, it's not like every admin and established editor doesn't already know that they should be cool, civil etc and so, when they stop being it's not accidental usually. It seems a little bit like saying "and please remember to eat dinner with your knife and fork" — just sort of generally unnecessary. There was also an implication (by your indentation, at least) that I was making personal attacks. I wasn't at all; I was being critical, certainly, but that's a completely different ballpark to making character attacks. -Splash 14:19, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

I herad u made um CURRENT WWE ROSTER so i keep telling you that johnny parisi and rene dupree have been sent to OVW AND DSW respectively if there profile is wrong please change it it is confusing DINOMAN 16:21, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

HIM

Is that the HIM symbol I see creeping in to your sig? -- Francs2000 22:56, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

I'm looking for a new symbol to use myself because other people are starting to use the British flag. I won't nick that one though, I've never really got into HIM myself - I'm more of a Sisters of Mercy man... -- Francs2000 23:03, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

I'm reminded of someone I used to supervise a couple of years ago. You're not a short mother of four kids by the name of Lin are you by any chance? You don't live on a council estate in Aylesbury??? -- Francs2000 23:08, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

Er... ok -- Francs2000 23:12, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

She scared the living daylights out of me. Although she was popular with the clients she wasn't the best of employees and she kept telling me how to do my job. She wasn't a very good ambassador for HIM fans I'm afraid! -- Francs2000 23:19, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

Hell yeah... Well I have to say a nice chat is just what I needed (had to put the wikistress up to top level earlier on) but I have to log off now and do some things before bed. Chat later, ok? -- Francs2000 23:29, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

My RFA

My admin request went up in flames. (But thanks anyways!)
My admin request went up in flames. (But thanks anyways!)
Hey, SWD316, I wanted to thank you for your support of my (unfortunately unsuccessful) request for adminship. The final tally was 37/16/5, which fell short of the needed 75-80% for "consensus". I really had no idea (before I was so kindly notified by you and others) that non-admins were supposed to put things like {{tl|test}} on vandals' talk pages! Thanks for informing me of that, and also for supporting my RFA in spite of it. I don't know if or when I'll go up for nomination again, but even if I don't, I will try not to betray the trust that you and 36 others were willing to place in me. Thanks for having faith in me... and happy editing! Matt Yeager 00:06, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

Aww, dear SWD...

Sweet SWD, I'm so very sorry that we did not get to talk before you actually declared her your love... sometimes rl can get in the way of our communication here :( I'm truly sorry about her reaction, but believe me, there may be little you could have done... it is impossible to have control over the heart of those we love. I can only offer you my friendship, my support and my sympathy in this sad moment. However... unlike me, you know her, so - isn't there a chance that you could give her a big surprise on Valentine's Day, just to give it a try? Sometimes, beautiful flowers and a small poem is all it takes to completely change a girl's heart... A big, big virtual hug to you from your friend Phaedriel 01:42, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

I also want to offer my sincere condolences, I know what you're going through. Rest assured, though, that you will find your true love. Trust me — I'm usually very materialistic, realistic, cynic and sceptic, but even I believe in true love. You'll find it, too. Take care! Cheers, —Nightstallion 08:54, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
Just saw the notice on Esperanza about your problem. I won't say that it will get better soon, but eventually (it may take some time) it will. Don't feel the need to be happy/better/or anything for anyone else. Take the time to make yourself feel better, for the time being make it all about yourself. Hope that you are better. If you need to talk, leave me a message on my talk page.  :) Prsgoddess187 20:19, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
I'm really sorry to hear about that...For what little comfort this may (or may not) give you, I've (two weeks ago) gone through something horribly similar, although, a little better since I wasnt directly involved...Anyway, if you ever want to chat, my talk page is always open. Cheers (remember, there is someone else out there, and you will find her oneday.) Banes 20:51, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
Sorry things are not going well. :( I don't hope to proffer advice, but I do hope that everything works out. I'm sure it will, even if it takes some time. -- Natalya 12:31, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

/haha

Aww...you removed it hehe :) Anyways, I hope your personal troubles resolve themselves soon :) — Ilyanep 02:38, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

Well good luck with that :) If you ever have an RFA tell me and I'll vote in support :) — Ilyanep 03:10, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, my mistake

Sorry about the reversion. I thought when following a vandal that I had the top edit. Something went wrong with updates, probably in my brain and not in Wikipedia. It was somebody who put a topic "Loser! ;-) ". Whoever it is has been making trouble elsewhere and is obviously not a new Wikipedian. Patrick0Moran 04:51, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

Cheer up!

I've come with attempt to cheer you up. I don't know exactly what's wrong, but we're still all here for you! I brought a clown.
Awww... I know exactly how you feel :( I hope you feel better about it soon... — FireFox 21:38, 8 February 2006

Pardon my spelling. I saw your recent revert on the article. I was pretty much on the verge of finishing a minor formatting fix of the quote, when I got the little edit conflict box. Nonetheless, go or no go on the quote. --Master Jay 23:20, 9 February 2006 (UTC)

Hey, thanks for zapping the unproductive comment on my talkpage. I wasn't even aware anyone in Canada disliked me that much ;x

Back to my regularly scheduled talentless pretentiousness :) Adrian 21:12, 11 February 2006 (UTC)

Hey, thanks again for the revert. The funny thing is, that IP and I don't even have any overlapping edit history (I think) -- I can't imagine what their beef is.
I just noticed your talkpage/userpage header RE: lovesickness, and wanted to extend you my support. I don't know what's up in your life, or how it affects you, but I know how similar situations have affected me -- I broke up with my partner of several years some time back, and it's still hard. But humans are adaptable, and faith manages. Don't forget to breathe, and smile every now and then.
We don't really know one another, but I'm around if you ever want to talk or vent. Adrian 01:54, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

Another Esperanzial note...

Hi again Esperanzians! Well, since our last frolic in the realms of news, the Advisory Council has met twice more (see WP:ESP/ACM2 and WP:ESP/ACM3). As a result, the charter has been ammended twice (see here for details) and all of the shortcuts have been standardised (see the summary for more details). Also of note is the Valentines ball that will take place in the Esperanza IRC channel on the 14th of February (tomorrow). It will start at 6pm UTC and go on until everyone's had enough! I hope to see you all there! Also, the spamlist has been dissolved - all Esperanzians will now recieve this update "newsletter".

The other major notice I need to tell you about is the upcoming Esperanza Advisory Council Elections. These will take place from 12:00 UTC on February 20th to 11:59 UTC on February 27th. The official handing-over will take place the following day. Candidates are able to volunteer any time before the 20th, so long as they are already listed on the members list. Anyone currently listed on the memberlist can vote. In a change since last time, if you have already been a member of the leadership, you may run again. Due to the neutrality precident, I will not vote for anyone.

Yours, as ever, Esperanzially,

My sweet dear David

While I know this may not be your best Valentine's Day, my sweet dear David,
I want you to know that you are present in my prayers and my thoughts.
I hope that you soon find the beautiful flower that is waiting for you, somewhere.
Your friend, forever, Phaedriel

Thanks

Thank you for reverting within seconds 70.19.66.105's two spam attacks on my talk page in the past few minutes. I just hope that (a) another hasn't been tried whilst I'm posting this; (b) no further attempts will be made; and (c) you're not finding yourself following this spammer around Wikipedia.
Best wishes, David Kernow 23:15, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

helpme template

Sorry if I messed up, but I do need help! I´m not too familiar with these templates, as I am sure you have understood ;-). E.g.: is it ok to put a helpme template on my user-page, and then redirect any helpful soul to Talk:Rulers of Pate? Regards, Huldra 23:55, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

Vandal on your talk page

Darn, Rhobite already blocked him. ;) Thanks for the notice. Regards, Sango123 17:26, 25 February 2006 (UTC)

McFly

I got an email message from another user who uses Focus Broadband, so have unblocked the range. I'll do a little more work on this. It is possible that the range is divided up by apartment complex served so just keep blocking McFly and we will eventually get all the addresses at that apartment house. Focus Broadband offers broadband services to a number of apartment complexes across the country. I have his address down to a particular apartment complex. (although he could just be in a neighboring residence as it is a wireless deal.) Fred Bauder 16:28, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

I have changed the block to 63.0.0.0/22 which should just block one apartment complex Fred Bauder 19:09, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

I just now got your message concerning this vandal. You're certainly right to remove the unblock template. He seems to have left off, but I'll keep an eye on the talk page. Thanks for dealing with that. Let me know if you need a hand with anything else. Canderson7 00:24, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

I understand now

OH! Well, that certainly explains it all, doesn't it? As you see, my dear Dave, sometimes, the reason why it may not work is not you - it's in the other person. I hope this has put your mind at rest, at least a little bit. And as I told you before, I have no doubt that a beautiful soul is just waiting for you, and you will find it... and I'm sure you will remember these words when your lives become intertwined and see how happy you are. A huge kiss, Phaedriel 01:08, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

Yes, I see your point - the heart never listens to the reasons in your head. It's an old story, as old as the world itself - been there myself :( In moments like these, nothing that could be said would be of use to you, I know. So I'll limit myself to send you my deepest sympathy and a huge, enormous, gigantic hug. You know you can count on me if you ever need a friend. Please, take care, sweet Dave - *smoochs*! Phaedriel 01:20, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

Sure, although I'm pretty sure that usually we'd want you to go through WP:CHU but oh well :) — Ilyanep 23:11, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

Image:Ritsuobi.JPG fair use

Hi. The image Image:Ritsuobi.JPG should include a proper source in it's image desacription. For example "this is the cover of blah blah blah". The specific book should also be actually be duscussed in the article it is included in for it's use to qualify as fair use. I question if the image is actually even a book cover. It is quite strange to see a book cover without any text on it. --Martyman 02:40, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

I am happy to let it stay, I would just like for it to be better described and used in a manner better fitting with fair use. If you could follow up on it it would be great. Thanks. -- Martyman 02:49, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

Karmafist's Election Proposal

I have a request of my fellow candidates, and of the voters -- that all candidates give a vote to every other candidate.

It may seem that this request goes against the idea that leadership and potential leadership of our group should be neutral, a precedent that has been followed since the beginning of Esperanza by JCarriker, but I beg to disagree.

For one, mathematically all votes would be cancelled out, but unlike if we stayed silent, we are showing an affirmation of our support for each other.

To me, that's what Esperanza's about. I've had disagreements with many people in Esperanza, but i'll always support them in some form or another as long as I believe as they'll do the same for me -- as long as we're unified in a belief that kindness can cure the ills of Wikipedia as a whole.

Just dropping by...

Hey, David! :D Your new heading tables look very nice (though a bit familiar). ;) Just one thing: Instead of using <h3 style="-moz-border-radius-topright: 10px; -moz-border-radius-topleft: 10px; background: #8FBC8F; text-align: center; padding: 3px;">...</h3>, try <div style="-moz-border-radius-topright: 10px; -moz-border-radius-topleft: 10px; background: #8FBC8F; text-align: center; font-size: 138%; padding: 3px;">...</div>. It gets rid of the small [edit] that appears off to the right. Cheers, Sango123 04:22, 18 February 2006 (UTC)

You recently left a comment on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ruin Mist about articles related to the author Robert Stanek. You may like to know that the page on the man himself is now up for deletion; Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Robert Stanek. I avoided merging the two together as I felt that the arguments for deleting the pages on the fiction didn't quite apply to the page on the writer, but thought it best to let you know in case you wanted to participate in this related discussion.
