A short Esperanzial update

As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.

As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.

Thanks and kind, Esperanzial regards, — Celestianpower 16:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

MOE?

Hey moe, what happened? I just got a computer, and saw that you had left the project and Wikipedia quite angrily. Please let me know my friend. Thetruthbelow 20:22, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

I dont know why people are under the impression that I left Wikipedia, but I haven't, and I'm not. I quit that project though. — Moe 20:24, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
Why did you quit the project? You helped me so much there. If someone was mean to you, I will do everything I can to get them blocked. Come back moe, we need you. Tell me what happened. Thetruthbelow 20:25, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
Please, I never want to hear the words, "please come back" again. I quit the project, and a lot of other things, because I dont want to be to interactive with the community right now. No one was "mean" to me, no one needs to be blocked. I'm happy to help you create things, but I will not be take part in what you are set out to do. — Moe 20:32, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
Well, I don't know what "happened" but I have to say that withdrawing from a project that you help me start and make great isn't solving any problems. Tell me if you ever want to come back. I still don't know whats going on, but know that you have a friend in me. Bye, Thetruthbelow 17:13, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

Hey Moe

About your entry on Wikipedia:List of non-admins with high edit counts, I believe these are occasionally automatically updated by a bot (or something like that), so if you remove your name, it may automatically get put back on the list (without being struck through), and people will again bother you to run for adminship. In other words, the best way to avoid being bothered is to leave your name on the list and struck through. (Or request to have your username changed to User:MOE ON WHEELS!!!, in which case no one will ever bother you about seeking adminship again). Cheers! BD2412 21:03, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

It is not automatically updated by bot, if it was, its doing a poor job because I wasn't listed until I manually inserted myself. The best way for be to stay off the list and not be bothered is to not be listed. Personally, I dont want it saying I failed 5 noms for adminship in more places than it needs to be. Changing usernames will not help either, all your contributions go along with it, just not your name. And I would get blocked if I changed my name to the suggested one you gave me. — Moe 21:08 June 23 '06
I may well be wrong about the bot, I know there was discussion of using one which resulted in strong support, but perhaps this was not implemented. I don't see why a struck through listing has to mention previous RfA's at all. As for the (ahem) suggested username, that was meant to be tongue in cheek, but you would certainly be let alone! BD2412 21:34, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
I dont have time for you're ever-so-witty replies. That list usually list previous nominations as a way to tell the users how many times that editor has recieved a nomination. I just dont want to be listed is all. — Moe 21:39 June 23 '06
I apologize if I have caused you any offense. B2412 21:41, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
None taken. — Moe 23:06 June 23 '06

Pricing game articles

I thought you should know that someone else seems to be messing with moving these articles around besides you...somebody turned the article "Plinko" into a copy/paste of "Plinko (game show)" with no edit history. Just something you might want to keep an eye out for...I'm gonna check around the articles myself right now, I think. -TPIRFanSteve 02:00, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

How do feel about the article moves I am making. (I am wanting some feedback) — Moe 02:03 June 24 '06
Actually, I'm more worried about the fact that someone seems to be creating copy/pasted versions of the articles with no edit histories. In fact, I just left a message about that on your Talk page. -TPIRFanSteve 02:07, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, but I'm not the one copying/pasting. ;-) I just saw your edit to Shopping spree. I didn't check for other articles named shopping spree since I knew there was probably an article on it somewhere, I didn't know about an alternate gameshow. I ran into that problem earlier with, I think, Temptation. I'll try to avoid that in the future. Thanks for the feedback. — Moe 02:13 June 24 '06

SummerSlam

The articles were titles that for a reason. The name of the pay per views were all called SummerSlam, not SummerSlam YEARNAME. Proper disambiguation is not renaming the pay per view. All of them are being reverted. I would prefer you create redirects to the article than mass move pages again. — Moe 23:13 June 23 '06

Can't say I'm the biggest fan of this titling, but alright. Sorry for the inconvenience. -- Oakster 13:16, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
Thanks. — Moe 13:30 June 24 '06

Just a thought.

I think (as a constructive piece of advice) you should have some chocolate, go for a walk, take some time away from Wikipedia and just vent. — Nathanrdotcom 18:30, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

I agree. Moe you are one of the greatest editors here, but I think you might want to take a break. Your whole attitude seems to have changed greatly. You really are a good person, but everyone has a few bad days. Try to get over them and come back to us as you were. Good luck moe, Thetruthbelow 19:07, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
Taking a break, eating chocolate nor walking will make me feel better so I'd rather not take a break. — Moe 20:35 June 24 '06
It was just a thought. My reasoning was: I feel - by looking at some of your edits - that you seem to be displacing your problems on your fellow Wikipedians. This is creating some stress and I don't think you really mean to do this. This is obvious (to me) by some of your recent edit summaries and your tone. Moe, if I didn't care about you as an editor and as a person, I wouldn't mention this - there's no clear "nice way" to say this. This is why I suggested taking a break away from Wikipedia. But nevermind, I won't mention my opinion as it's clearly not wanted. — Nathanrdotcom 20:46, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
*After 4 edit conflicts* I assure you that any comment I made is true, my tone probably wasn't the best, but since everyone takes my tone as shouting or screaming, it doesn't really matter how my tone is because everyone misjudges it anyways. <sarcasm>Wow, stress on Wikipedia, thats new.</sarcasm> I know you care Nathan (other people I dont want to list), but somethings you got to stop doing, and asking me to change is one them. — Moe 20:58 June 24 '06
Ok, there's no nice way to say this either: I'm asking you to please stop allowing your real life problems to affect Wikipedia. You could very easily make a slip and get warned or blocked and I don't want to see that happen. You're a wonderful contributor and a generally nice person. Please don't let your problems get the better of you. I know you're better than that. —Nathanrdotcom 21:12, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
I think you need to stop making rash judgements. I never mentioned my real-life problems above. I may have mentioned them to you before over e-mail or other times, but this isn't it. Real-life isn't the reason I redirected my sub-pages/userpage and caused my stress, its this damn community which isn't making itself look any better right about now. — Moe 21:20 June 24 '06
I feel that you're misinterpreting me and that saddens me. I know what the problem is, you even told me via e-mail. I don't feel like I'm really being listened to. Moe, I do care, and I wouldn't say what I did if I didn't care. Taking absolutely everything that can be taken into account: Problem that you mentioned to me, community issues, how is it fair that you're displacing this on other Wikipedians? Edit summaries ("bite me"), tone of voice (you're snapping at your fellow editors - many of whom are completely innocent), this is what you're doing whether you realise it or not. It's not right. Please consider what I've said. I'll shut up now though. — Nathanrdotcom 21:27, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
What saddens me is that your not listening to me either. I know what I told you over e-mail might seem like the greatest factor in it (it probably is the biggest factor), but regardless, its still not the only reason. How is it fair to other Wikipedians, well, its not, but sometimes life isn't fair. I realize what I'm doing, I'm not stupid. As to it not being right, well thats a matter of opinion. — Moe 21:48 June 24 '06
"Life isn't fair" should not be used as an excuse to take your problems out on people who are completely innocent. If you are aware of what you're doing, the next step would be to do something about it. Don't just let it continue. I suggest: Take some time to examine yourself, your responses to others, what is bothering you and what you can do to deal with what's bothering you. Time to take some "me" time. And in response to what you've said: My point is not to "bother" you, but rather to inform you that by using certain edit sumamries and responses to others, it is not helping the problems at hand, and you are only creating new problems by doing this. In other words: How is it my fault (or Where's or any other Wikipedian) that you have problems in your life right now? It's not. So would you please just stop taking it out on us? Don't snap at us, don't skulk around Wikipedia using borderline incivil edit summaries, don't say things that are self-deprecating, don't reject compliments and deem yourself unworthy of praise (because you are worthy) - just deal with the problems you have systematically, one by one, until they are gone. I'm fdone now, I'll stop bothering you. — Nathanrdotcom 01:34, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
My final response to you is to stop pestering me and leave me alone. — Moe 01:39 June 25 '06
If you're going to call me pestering, you're going to lose a good friend who cares about you as a person. Please assume good faith behind my words and ask yourself if you this is the road you really want to go down. I wouldn't say what I've said if I didn't care. — Nathanrdotcom 01:43, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
Has it occured to you that your not the only one with a mood disorder? — Moe 01:45 June 25 '06
Please don't judge the actions of the entire community based on the actions of a few. Where are you having problems? I respect you as a valuable Wikipedia contributor and would be happy to help in any way that I can. -- Where 21:32, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
To respond to your edit summary "Can I help?", no you can't help, sorry. Now I would just appriciate if you all left me alone now. — Moe 21:48 June 24 '06

Today's Star shines upon...

...my dear David,
always costant and loyal as
a strong and noble oak,
bright and beautiful as a star,
cheerful as a Spring morning,
and deep as a blue ocean...
Your words in my darkest hour
were a beacon of wisdom and
my guiding light when I was lost.
My gratitude and affection to you
with last as long as my hearts
beats and my eyes remain open.
Your friend, now and always,
Phaedriel

Umm.. hey Phaedriel. I'm really at a loss for words. About today's star, well.. I dont feel that I'm very deserving right now. I haven't been the most cheerful, loyal or bright person as of late towards anybody, although I have been pretty deep. I haven't been feeling good and have been taking it out towards the wrong people. Unfortunantly, I feel I can't accept your gift to me, I'm sorry. — Moe 00:13 June 25 '06

I'm not judging whether or not you're deserving by basing on your last actions only, dear David - but on who you are, and the way you are. Just like Nathan, Where, Thetruthbelow, and so many, many others, we simply love you, our friend, no matter your current problems nor how they have affected you. Simply know that we're all here, should you ever need us, to talk, listen to you, comfort you, or simply leave you alone until you feel better. So please, accept my gift as a humble reward for all the beautiful things and moments you've gifted us, and just as you showed me the way when I was lost (and like a wise person told me once) simply let it be a reminder...
Now I will leave you to your thoughts, my dear David - rest, recover, and we will be waiting for you when you feel better. With my warmest wishes, Phaedriel 02:05, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
Moe, I agree completly with Phaeriel You helped me when I wanted to quit Wikipedia, you started a great project with me that I hope you will rejoin, and overall you have been a great friend. As to you believing that you have treated others wrongly, you have nothing to concern yourself over. You have been civil even when I know how you are feeling. Moe, my heart goes out to you, and I want to say how much you mean to me as a freind. I know you might not want to here it now, but you are one of the greatest contributers to Wikipedia. You will always be my friend, even if you want nothing to do with myself or the project we started. Your friend, Thetruthbelow 23:54, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

Hey.

Hey Moe. Nice to see you again. Ahh, Where is your own page? I could not recognize your page. So, Did you move your own page? Or Did you delete your user page? Daniel5127 01:47, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

Sure. Daniel5127 01:50, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

Re: Stop

Sorry about that Moe. I'm just a little confused on how to format the results and previews for shows. I've posted something on the WP:PW talk page baout it and they sugested I make my own formatting on the project page, which I did. If you don't feel it is the right way to format it, feel free to change the piece I've posted on the project page and let me know how to properly set these things up. Normy132 01:51, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

It's okay, we all get a bit stressed sometimes. I think it probably would have been best to leave the tag up and I most likely would have left it alone. That format I wrote really isn't my own either. It's sort of a hybrid of all the ones I could find on the site and put the similarities together. Normy132 02:00, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

RE: HIM Heartagram

Thaniks Moe Epsilon, I'm aware it's HIM's logo, but I had to remove it from the article as per Wikipedia policy. Glad you put the licensing in. Cheers, Musikxpert 10:52, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

Favour

Hi Moe, it's me, Evan. How are things going? I was wondering if you could do me a tiny favour and review me again. But this time, I would like an RFA-like comment so I can get a good feeling of what a real RFA is like.

Thanks!

He's back!

Hey Moe. You'll never guess what I came across on Jimbo Wales' talk page. Yep, Ozwrestlingmaniac. He's working under a new IP address, 203.142.145.231, which he has worked under before while he was still registered (see here). He left a message on Jimbo Wales' talk page as I said before complaining about the treatment of his sockpuppets and how anybody who doesn't kiss your ass gets banned. Should this IP address be blocked indefinitely seeing how he is the same person? By the way, how's the SummerSlam project coming along? Normy132 07:53, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

Cheers for that. I was thinking last night "could he be the next Willy On Wheels?!" His old IP address was banned before for being part of his sockpuppets but I doubt they can catch him out for that reason again. Drop a message by if you need a hand with the SummerSlam project. Normy132 01:26, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

SummerSlam posters?

Hey,

I'm quite pleased at how your SummerSlam articles are going and I was wondering if I could give a bit of help. I know a website that has a collection of WWE pay-per-view posters and if you don't mind, I could upload the posters and place them on the articles' infobox. Is that ok with you? -- Oakster 12:48, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

Ok, no problem. -- Oakster 21:33, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
I've uploaded posters for 1989 up to 1994. I'll upload some more as the articles are completed. -- Oakster June 2006 (UTC)
You're welcome. Well I've checked Cawthon's website and all it had were a couple of newspaper clippings for SummerSlam 88 which I don't think will look good for the article. I can't seem to find the poster for it anywhere else either, just video and program covers. -- Oakster 16:53, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
That's an awesome find. Thanks -- Oakster 07:42, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

Hey man

Just wanted to see how you were doing. Thetruthbelow 19:08, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

WWE roster

It did look a little convoluted with all the non-wrestlers together. Plus I found RvB's comments valid, though I refuse to divide the inactive lists. -- Dubhagen 21:23, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, but this time I have a seperate section for Managers/valets, which we didn't have before. with a Managers/valet section, it should eliminate the need people have to group all the women in one section. -- Dubhagen 21:57, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

Plus one of the reasons we combined them last time was having the title Non-wrestlers, which one would assume would include commentators and such. This time I did away with that title. --Dughagen 22:01, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

YTMND Wiki

We're thinking about changing the main page of YTMND Wiki to something Wikipedia like, or a "wiki news" page. Also there's a www.ytmnd.com/wiki/YTMND:Style_guide style guide that's being proposed. -- Lbmixpro

I have decided to retire

Hello Moe Epsilon. I just wanted to come here and thank you for everything before I retire from wikipedia. I have decided not to stay for various reasons, mostly from the past. I have seen what this place has done to people, and I have decided to not let it happen to me. I don't know if I will come back, but regardless I wanted to thank you. You were always nice to me, and for that I am forever greatful. Thank you my friend for everything. Thetruthbelow 04:38, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

What's up.

What's up Moe. Everything is sudden. After my Wikibreak, I came to Wikipedia to send you message. You were very unhappy. I want to know why you felt unhappy last time? Daniel5127 04:56, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

Ahh, I was just wondering. Daniel5127 05:00, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

Image titles

I've reuploaded the wrestling poster as Image:Poster 98 summer slam.jpg

Please make sure your titles are descriptive in the future. -- Zanimum 16:15, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

What was the point in uploading that Image again. Now you just made a redundant Image. There is no point in a "descriptive title", because users can click on the Image if the want a description, they don't need a "good" title. — Moe 16:19 June 30 '06
I deleted the old file. 98poster.jpg is not a good title, since there are thousands of posters made in the years 1998. Heck even 1898 they were making posters. Images should have file names that are unique and unmistakably their own. Wikipedia:Image_use_policy#Image_titles_and_file_names -- Zanimum 16:22, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

Hi there

Hi. I've been considering doing a project similar to your SummerSlam with either Survivor Series or Royal Rumble and I wanted to ask you a few questions to help being consistent with your style. Firstly, I was just wondering what exactly should go in the Notes section (I presuming angles, interviews, etc.) and what shouldn't (I'm guessing here pointless trivia stuff as "This is the first Royal Rumble to have this" or "This person did whatever at last year's Survivor Series as well")? Secondly, what are your thoughts on tables in the articles? A table noting eliminations and entrances might be useful for Royal Rumble articles, but you could go either a table or bullet points for Survivor Series matches. If there's any other guidelines I should go by, please let me know. Thanks in advance. -- Oakster 19:48, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the advice. I'll start working on probabily Royal Rumble in a few days time. -- Oakster 07:35, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
