Adminship situation

Moe, I think there may be trouble brewing in the adminship department. I can't be sure but the way things are shaping out it's not looking good. You're familiar with OzWrestlemaniac, Venables001 and 203.45.248.72 right? I know, they're all the same person but his OzWresltingManiac account has put in a request for adminship and is getting his new counterpart Sara to vote for him. You can notice of "Sara's" page that it uses the same techniques as ozwrestlingmaniac. I'm not sure if you're the right guy to be talking to about this but is there anything you can do? The last thing we need is him as an administrator. Thanks again for the sig ---> Normy132 04:42, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

Thanks man, you're a real friend. Also, have you noticed this new WP: Australian Wrestlemaniacs thing he's set up? I've got a few issues with it. First of all it is hardly a valid project. Secondly all the members are the same guy and thirdly he's putting userboxes relating to the project and links to the project on the pages "that the project cares for". See Wrestling in Australia. I thought you weren't allowed to put userboxes on articles? Surely there's some sense in this guy. I'll get rid of the userboxes but as for the project I don't think there's much we can do. Normy132 04:56, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

Hello Moe

Hello Moe. I had know idea that you were DGX when you reverted vandalism to my userpage after I became an admin. Welcome back. Thanks again for teaching me about WP:CSD, way back in Archive1 when I was starting out. It means a lot to me. Thanks, Blnguyen 05:19, 8 June 2006 (UTC).

Email?

Hi Moe, I tried to email you, but you did not specify an email address. If you can, could you specify it so that others can mail you? But if you chose not to receive mail, then that's fine. --Terence Ong 07:10, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

I've been threatened

Moe, I've been threatened and apparently been put in my place and according to that guy you have no respect around here. I feel you're the only one I can talk to about this. You've been a true friend to me but this is somethnig I really need help with. As you can probably see on my talk page this guy has told me to abandon you (which I wouldn't do on my grave) and in my talk page history his previous warning was a legitimate threat about how I shouldn't make significant changes without informing "them" (the wrestlemaniacs, i.e. him x 4) and will revert changes on the hour if I don't join "them". I've left a message on his talk page about it. Please help. Normy132 07:41, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

Regarding that banned user, what was he originally operating under? (Glad to help last week, by the way). Blnguyen 06:19, 13 June 2006 (UTC).

Trolls, WP:HA threats

I've blocked the two trolls indefinitely for their harassment threats and general incivility. NSLE 12:08, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

Harass !!!

Hey Moe, I was wondering if you could talk to Iloveminun, he is just having a go at me too much. Smurrayinchester filed an RfC on him and I'm getting the backlash, I can't take it.

And my user page is fucked... HighwayCello 19:40, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

Fixed it. ; ) (not ILM) HighwayCello 19:41, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
It kind of corrupted. the boxes weren't showing up. Which isn't my main problem anyway. HighwayCello 20:26, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

Wikipedians I respect

I just noticed that I'm on your list! Thanks! I feel all warm, and my eyes are watery (though that's actually because I've been staring at the screen without blinking for too long). ;) Sergeant Snopake 22:08, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

I know, I saw him, it was like, 'whoa, there's a bunch of really great users here'! *Snopake begins to feel inadequate...* Sergeant Snopake 22:18, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
Well, I would very much like a romantic relationship with both men and women (not at the same time!), and am perfectly happy to go as far as kissing etc, but I have no desire for sex at all. Maybe it's just my hormones at the moment, or something, because I haven't always felt like this. Although, it's been a while since I didn't feel this way. Who knows? No, it wasn't an odd question, I get asked it all the time! ;) Sergeant Snopake 08:44, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
I'm sorry if you were worried you might have offended me, but I'd decided to go upstairs and play Conker's Bad Fur Day (which has the best multiplayer section of all the games on the N64!), and I turned my computer off literally minutes before your question! Sergeant Snopake 08:50, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, that's what worries me! What will my potential partner think? Well, I don't have an aversion to sex, I'm just not interested. And I might feel entirely differently when I actually start practicing (as it were). Yeah, I bet you were worried! That must have been awful. :) Sergeant Snopake 23:31, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
It really doesn't sound like the sort of story you want to be plastering all over Wikipedia... ;) Sergeant Snopake 09:28, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
*Reads paragraph 3 under variations* Hmmm. I guess I am a fetishist... Sergeant Snopake 11:21, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

Re: Trolls

Thanks to you too Moe, you've been a true pal. I didn't think they'd get blocked so quickly, I thought it be a progressive thing that would take at least a week to see if they responded! Yeah, I find that funny he left that edited vandalism message there as well, even if you were editing or not. I think this will make things a LOT easier on us as well. Cheers not only helpng me through this but for some great teamwork as well! Normy132 01:32, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

Re: Your signature

Yeah it was a test. I couldn't decide whether the switch would take place before it was entered onto a page or after, so I just tested in my sandbox to see if it would paste the whole code. It did, so I reverted quite quickly :) Thanks for the concern all the same, — FireFox 11:15, 09 June '06

To be honest I reckon it is still possible to do something like that, but it would requite a bit more thought and effort into thinking what to do! The only thing is, my exams have drained everything out of me and I don't have the energy to think about it right now, although I am sure it is possible some way. Maybe I'll have another look at it after exams :) — FireFox 18:30, 09 June '06
Just GCSEs... in absolutely everything... Sciences, Maths, Languages, English... — FireFox 18:34, 09 June '06
In a way I have already broken up... Because I am on exams, I am on study leave so don't have to be in school unless I have an exam, so technically I have been on holiday since the middle of May.. my last exam, however, is next Friday (June 16) so that's my last day in school. — FireFox 18:41, 09 June '06
Hehe schools can be very stupid, yes. I have a little time on my own now, so I am experimenting with my sig now. It's pretty complicated and I probably don't have a chance. FireFox
Gah, do you know how long it took me to figure out my current sig, which is more than complicated as it is! The final product (if I ever get one), is going to be a mix between <nowiki>, <noinclude>, <includeonly>, <code>, {{switch}}... argh! I'm always up for a challenge though =P — FireFox 19:07, 09 June '06
Mine's already sizzled away... nothing much to lose then :) — FireFox 19:16, 09 June '06
Hehe very witty reply =P This is scrambling up my brains as well... I will get it eventually, I am confident about it :) Where'd my sig go, I signed! :( FireFox
<groan> I don't know why I bother... I only wanted to be special ;-) </groan> — FireFox 19:34, 09 June '06
Hehe ok, I'll leave that out of my final sig then. I am getting there, believe it or not - wooo =P -- FireFox
I thought I'd done it but then it went drastically wrong. Could you explain what you just said in your last message? Sorry, I am very slow this evening. -FireFox
I think it did yes... you're quite good with templates and stuff aren't you? Can you see anything obviously wrong etc with this: My preferences "sig" section is {{subst:User:FireFox/Sig2}}, which links to User:FireFox/Sig, and there is also this page for testing purposes... and when I enter ~~~ in my sandbox, it gives this. Any ideas? FireFox
Sure, go for it. Feel free to fiddle around with my own userspace if you like, my sig is in no working condition to use anyway =P {{User:FireFox/Sig}} As I was saying... FireFox
Ok :) Don't waste too much of your time on it, it's not that important. There's no hurry either :) FireFox
Hmm that's quite clever, yeah =D ...don't people get told off for not subst'ing sigs though? :( I've seen it happen before... Another thing, I've always had the raw sigs box ticked by the way, and I've always signed with three tildes too :) I noticed User:Haza-w/Signature, which seems to work as I want it to work, but I can't figure it out. It subst's the sig in too. FireFox
Ok, don't worry if you don't have the time. I am going to bed now, so thanks, and goodnight! :) FireFox

I love you! =D

I think it works - wooo! I've only had one test with it so far but it seems to work beautifully. Thanks so much :) — FireFox 16:46, 10 June '06

20000 edits

It took me 2+ years to get to 10000 edits; that you were able to do the same number in only 6 months is flat out impressive. Mind you, now that I'm at a job where I have very little to do, so cruise Wikipedia to kill time, I expect my next 10000 will come a little faster. I appreciate your response to my note! Denni 23:42, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

A job with little to do...

Trust me, Moe, it's not heaven, it's hell. With nothing to do, I look at the clock expecting to see a half hour passed, and it's only five minutes. And I have to be ready at a half second's notice to dump Wikipedia if my supervisor (or the office spy) suddenly pops into my office. Another problem is the nagging worry that =someone= is going to notice that I do f**k all for seven hours and decide that I'm redundant. No, I'd rather have enough to keep me busy so that the workday passes quickly, and I feel gainfully employed. Denni 23:55, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

Thanks

Revert thanks

Thanks for reverting the vandalism on my user talk page.

P.S. I dislike your new signature (there is an admin User:King of Hearts who I confused you with). Kimchi.sg 06:11, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

Hi. Good to see you back. Thanks for reverting my user page. Cheers TigerShark 23:57, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

Re: RFAr agianst Tony Sidaway

Hi Chuck. I was wondering, really, what do you hope to accomplish by sending Tony to RFAr? I, for one, support your statement, but I don't think there is much ArbCom can do. I don't think ArbCom can desysop him over something as minor as this, or block him, so I don't think theres much else that can be done. ArmCom cannot tell him to stop feeling he is right or tell him to view another side, which wouldn't happen anyways. -- from Moe 06:43, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

Hey Moe, first off, glad you're back. In regards to the RfAr, I hope that the ArbCom will instruct Tony to leave signatures that do not violate guidlines alone (I believe this is within their power). The Arbcom can also, as far as I know, remind Tony of certain principles and etiquettes of this project. It was never my original intention to take this step (I didn't even want to go to RfC) but Tony habitually lessens his disruption by "talking-down" to his opposition. If Tony continues to "refactor" signatures after/if the case is accepted, the ArbCom can also issue a block per disruption or WP:POINT. However, I do not want Tony blocked for the sake of blocking Tony. I believe blocks should be preventive or stop-gap, rather than punitive. In the end, I guess, I'm hoping that Tony will stop changing signatures not on his talk page. If he does not, I'm hoping the Arbcom will tell him to do that. Thanks for the message and let me know if you have any more questions. Later, Chcknwnm 06:53, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

seems to me

that most of the wikipedia editing community has some mental health problem or another. just a thought. Avriette 20:23, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

Mental health issues

Sorry to hear things are not going well. I understand only too well how hard it is to go on with a broken head. Even harder than a broken arm. Hope things are looking up soon, and you're back with us. Denni 21:47, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

  • Will do. He's on my watchlist. Denni 22:25, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

Deletion process

Hey Moe. Just a quick question about the article I put up for deletion (Australian Wrestlemaniacs or whatever it was). How long does it take before it can be deleted? Clearly the votes are a landslide in favour of deleting it. Normy132 01:25, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

Hello.

Hello Moe. Let's me introduce about myself. My Name is Daniel. I have just recognized that you have so many friends in Wikipedia. For Me, I don't have many friends in Wikipedia. Just about five wikipedians. So, I want to be friend with you. Cheers~!! Daniel5127 04:43, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

*~Daniel~* has smiled at you! Smiles promote WikiLove and hopefully this one has made your day better. Spread the WikiLove by smiling to someone else, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend. Smile to others by adding {{tls|smile}}, {{tls|smile2}} or {{tls|smile3}} to their talk page with a friendly message. Happy editing!

Yep, I think that I got new friends in Wikipeida. ^^ Daniel5127 04:58, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
So, Do you usually come to Esperanza? Daniel5127 06:24, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

RfA/Gurch

Well, the King of Kings has spoken, what more can I say? Thanks for the support, I guess. (BTW, your fake messages bar didn't fool me, I had the real one up at the time!) – Gurch 17:33, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

CrazyRussian's RfA

Hello Moe Epsilon, and thank you for your support at my request for adminship, which ended with an awe-inspiring 86/1/2 result. I plan to do much with my shiny new tools - but I'll start slow and learn the ropes at first. Please deluge me with assignments and requests - I enjoy helping out. For Mother Russia!! - CrzRussian 05:29, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

My Copying

You might feel that why because I totally am copying you :p. I even tried to change it up a bit so you wouldn't notice, like changing the font color to black. Dang it though, you still found out. Oh well! Thetruthbelow 05:56, 13 June 2006 (UTC) P.S. If you want me to change it I would be more than willing. Thanks

Yeah, thats true, I never was a good theif :(. Anyway, I changed your "new messages" sign on this page, as it at first said "new massages" and I don't think that was what you meant, although I would appreciate a massage. Cheers, Thetruthbelow 06:09, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
Sorry! Didn't realize you wanted it that way. On the topic of the Rfa, someone really opposed you because they fell for it? That is pretty rediculous. Sorry again, Thetruthbelow 06:19, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

RFA

Excuse my french, but that is complete bull#!&$. I would like to nominate you again for an rfa, as you certainly are deserving. Your past one was on March 26 I believe, nearly 3 months ago, and I would like to nominate you again. What do you say? Thetruthbelow 06:39, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

That seems like too long to me, but I will certainly nominate you then. I have only been here since April 26, and I foolhardidly nominated myself then with only one months experience and about 1,200 edits, and all opposed becuase my lack of time here. I got a request from someone to nominate me, but like you I think i will wait a while, probably till I have been here for six months. Thetruthbelow 06:46, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
Pretty bad, huh? Thetruthbelow 06:48, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

That actually sounds really good, as the guy that offered to nominate me Rje will probably forget by that time. Also, my birthday is in november, so that could be an awesome gift. I am sending you an email real quick so look for it. Thetruthbelow 06:58, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

Never mind I wont send you an email as you dont have it enabled :p. I think that your idea is very good, and hopefully by that time I will have over 5000 edits, because as of right now I have 1659 edits in 1 and a half months. By November, which is almost 6 months away, I probably will also be much more experienced. Write me your thoughts, Thetruthbelow 07:01, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
My Aol isn't currently working so I was going to send it to you via Wikipedia e-mail. I bet I will have it fixed by tomorrow, so I will send it to you then. By the way, see if you can find my Hidden not so well link on my user page. Good Luck! Thetruthbelow 07:08, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, I hide pages just about as well as I try to hide material I steal from you ;D. But back to the nominations I think it is a great idea, and I will send you more of my thoughts tomorrow via email. Well, I am going to bed now, but I'll see you tomorrow. Bye! Thetruthbelow 07:17, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

My RFA

Moe Epsilon, thank you very much for your support in my recent Request for adminship, it passed with a final tally of (65/3/3) - which I find both amazing and humbling. I wish I had time to thank everyone personally, but I'm afraid all I can offer is this token of my gratitude. I hope to live up to your expectations/hopes. If at any stage you need to contact me, for help or a request or to point out a mistake in my conduct, please make sure to tell me on my talk page. --Fir0002 08:34, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

Nice to see you!

Hi, David, nice to see you voted for my friend's Rfa. Unfortunately, it might not reach the concensus needed to pass this request, but it was, after all , job well done! Thank you! (Is Moe in the list of Tdxiang's Wikifriends? -- Tdxiang 10:10, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

My RfA

Hello, Moe Epsilon/Archive 16, and thank you for the supportive vote on my recent RfA! With a final vote of 84/1/4, I have now been entrusted with the mop, bucket and keys. I will be slowly acclimating myself to my new tools over the next months, but welcome any and all feedback and suggestions on how I might be able to use them to help the project. Thanks again! - Kukini 17:06, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

Slipknot222

I fear Slipknot222 may have passed away. He noted that he had a heart condition and he was going away for a while. See bolded message on his user page. But his final post worries me because he said he was going to be on Wikipedia during the weekend and hasn't posted since, and that was on April 1, 2006. — Moe 21:39, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

Please add any info you have on Slipknot222 under the possibly deceased section of Wikipedia:Deceased Wikipedians. Include sources of any info you have on the editor. I'll then see what I can find out. Best, --Alabamaboy 02:10, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

Thank you

Image:WikiThanks.png Hi Moe Epsilon/Archive 16, thank you for voting in my RFA which failed eventually at a result of (91/51/8). I do not plan to run for adminship until a later date. Once again, I would like to thank you for voting. -- Terence Ong 03:28, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

ECCW Roster page

I've added the "{{tl|prod}}" template to the article Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling roster, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Importance). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling roster. If you remove the {{tl|dated prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Moe.

Hello, Moe. Do you remember me? Daniel. Are you taking Wiki Break? It's sudden becaust When I sent you message, we immediately became friends. After that you are taking WikiBreak. It's interesting. Hehe. For Me, I will take WikiBreak on June 20 to June 22, I have a final Exams in School. then starts summer vacation. See you then. Daniel5127 03:18, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

For you truly are... the King of Kings!

Dear Moe Epsilon, dude thanks so much for your support during my recent successful request for adminship. I really appreciate it, especially from someone as synonymous with Wikipedia as yourself. You do so much for the community here and believe me, your Surreal barnstar is so deserved (you're really the most surreal one here!) Thanks again man (also, it was no surprise that you were DGX... I had it figured out with the "7000 edits wish I had that many" line) and it's good to have you back here -- Samir (The Scope) 06:59, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

I'm happy thanks, finished my exams! And yourself? My sig is working perfectly thank you! — FireFox 19:54, 16 June '06

These storms and hurricanes always make me sad for the people who are affected in any way, even though it doesn't affect me directly :( — FireFox 20:01, 16 June '06
It's quite scary to see it all on TV some of the time, for some reason it always seems to affect me quite badly. Like the Tsunami in 2004, that was really bad =( — FireFox 20:13, 16 June '06
I can imagine. It really got to me when there was a major one of last year (can't remember which), and so many Wikipedia editors were affected by it. That really shocked me :( — FireFox 20:19, 16 June '06
Rings a bell, yeah I think that was probably it. Anyway, I'm going to play a game now (relax) and then go to bed :) — FireFox 20:23, 16 June '06
