Rachel Zevita (Born October 20, 1987) is a classically trained opera singer/American singer-songwriter. She attended the prestigious Fiorello H. Laguardia High School in New York City, made famous by the 1980 film: "Fame." She currently attends The Aaron Copland School of Music at Copland College. Zevita first gained attention when her audition for American Idol Season 6 aired on January 23rd on the FOX network. She performed three songs: "Eternal Life" by Jeff Buckley, "Get Here (If You Can)," and an opera number. When asked by judge, Simon Cowell who she would like to be, Zevita responded, "I would like to be me, and me, I'm a singer, songwriter, and a rock star." The judges, including guest judge and accomplished musician/songwriter Carole Bayer-Sager, approved of her audition and sent her to Hollywood for the next round of auditions. Rachel Zevita was eliminated in the first round of "Hollywood Week." She is currently working on her biography and first album.
