Moelwynion
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Moelwynion (a Welsh plural, sometimes anglicised to Moelwyns), are a group of mountains in central Snowdonia. They extend from the north-east of Porthmadog to the pass called Bwlch y Rhediad (pass of the slope), separating them from Moel Siabod. The name derives from the names of the two largest mountains in the group, Moelwyn Mawr (great white hill) and Moelwyn Bach (little white hill). The group includes the following summits:
- Moelwyn Mawr
- Moelwyn Bach (connected to Moelwyn Mawr by the Craigysgafn ridge)
- Cnicht
- Ysgafell Wen
- Moel Druman
- Allt-fawr
