Model Arts and Niland Gallery

The Model Arts and Niland Gallery is the premier venue for the arts in the North West of Ireland. It houses a cafe, several exhibition spaces focussing on contemporary art and education activities, a collection of 20th Century Irish art, a black box cinema/venue for concerts.
It occupies the former Model School building on The Mall in Sligo, the building had a major addition in the late Nineties designed by Valerie Mulvin of McCullough Mulvin Architects. The building was recently shortlisted for several architectural awards. The director is Sarah Glennie who curated the 2005 Irish Pavilion in the Venice Biennale.
