[edit] Biography
Frank Butcher's mother Mo arrived in Albert Square after he bought a car lot. She helped run both the B&B and The Queen Victoria pub and was also a Brown Owl in the Walford Brownies for a while (following Marge Green), though she was sacked for lying about her age. She was seen as a tough old battleaxe, and on one occasion, took on the local council over the proposed closure of the community centre. She organised a street party for Frank and Pat's wedding. In 1990, she become increasingly forgetful, and was eventually diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease after both flooding the B&B and setting fire to the house. Frank decided he was unable to look after her, and sent her to live with his elder sister Joan, who looked after Mo in Colchester until she died on New Year's Eve 1992.
