Mladen Krstajić (Serbian Cyrillic: Младен Крстајић; born March 4, 1974) is a Serbian footballer. He plays for the German Bundesliga side, Schalke 04.
Mladen Krstajić was born in Zenica, Bosnia and Hercegovina, SFR Yugoslavia to Serb parents (his mother is from Bijeljina, his father from Žabljak). After playing in the youth system of NK Čelik Zenica, Krstajić moved to Kikinda, Serbia in 1992, following the breakout of inter-ethnic war in Bosnia. Once in Serbia, he started playing with OFK Kikinda, eventually earning a dream move to powerhouse FK Partizan.
Krstajić has been a part of the Serbian national team's "Famous Four" defence, which conceded just one goal during the qualifying for the 2006 World Cup. The other members of the famous four are Goran Gavrančić of Dynamo Kiev, Manchester United's Nemanja Vidić, and Ivica Dragutinović of Sevilla.
