Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology (MJCET in short) is an Engineering College, affiliated to Osmania University, Hyderabad, India. It was started in 1980 with a modest beginning, it has now grown to an annual intake of 660 students across various fields of engineering. It is located at one of the major junctions of Hyderabad, Panjagutta Circle. It was a hunting resort of the late nizams, and then prince Muffakaham Jah transferred it to a trust named sultan ul uloom education society, which still runs the institution.

Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology is a premier Engineering institute, offering four year B.E. degree courses in 8 Engineering branches, namely, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology, Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical engineering and Production Engineering and two post graduate courses viz M.E(CAD/CAM) of two year duration and MCA of three year duration. The College is affiliated to Osmania University and is approved by the AICTE. Five of the courses, namely, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Production Engineering have been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA, AICTE) and the Institution of Engineers (India).
[edit] Admissions
For admission to the first year of the 4-year degree course in Engineering, candidates must fulfill the eligibility requirements as prescribed by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and the Osmania University from time to time. All admissions are made strictly in accordance with the Government Rules in force at the time of admission. Since it is a Muslim minority college 50% of the seats are reserved for Muslims who appear and qualify in the state level Engineering And Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET, in short), 40% for EAMCET rank holders and the remaining 10% are earmarked for NRI (Non-resident Indian) candidates. The idea is to allow Indian students who have studied abroad up to high school, and who might find it difficult to compete in the highly competitive entrance tests, to be able to study in the institution. The NRI seats require the fee for all four years to be paid in advance, and the fee is generally set upwards of $12,000 (which is about 15-20 times of the fee for other seats). The basis of admission will be successful completion of 10+2 years of school education for the NRI seats. There are gross irregularities in these seats with no measures taken to verify if the applicants are of genuine NRI status (which should be spending a period of more than five years outside India). The other discrepancy in these admissions is that NRI fees is different for different branches of study, with the students getting an NRI seat in Electronics and other in demand courses paying a lot more than say people taking up a NRI seat in Civil Engineering. Though the rules say a similar amount of fee should be charged for all branches. This results in auction like situation with the highest bidder getting the seat.

A Placement Cell functions in the College for counseling the students regarding higher studies and employment opportunities within India and abroad. The Cell renders advice, assistance and guidance to students in the following areas:
• Industrial counseling
• Various facilities available from different Government and Quasi-government institutions for starting industrial projects
• Counseling for higher studies and foreign travel
• Project placement
• Short term industrial courses in various Government undertakings
• Industrial visits
• Extension lectures
• Campus interviews and final placements.
