Mixer-settler
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mixer-settlers are used when there will only be one equilibrium stage in the process. For such a system, the two liquid phases are added and mixed. Due to their density differences, one phase will settle out and the mixture will be separated. The downfall to this type of extractor is that it requires a large-volume vessel and a high liquid demand.
