Mixed Emotions is a song by The Rolling Stones from their 1989 "comeback" album Steel Wheels.
Recorded in Montserrat from March through June 1989, "Mixed Emotions" was not a group effort. Guitarist Keith Richards brought his own music to the sessions while singer Mick Jagger wrote most of the lyrics to fit Richards' melody.
Released as a single in August 1989, "Mixed Emotions" made into the Top 10 in the US, going to #5. It would be the Stones' last US Top 10 single of their career. There was some controversy that the song was called "Mixed Emotions" to sound very similar to "Mick's Demotion" since Richards and Jagger had a feud a few years earlier, but Richards denied the fact.
