[edit] Welcome to Esperanza!
Welcome, Mitternacht90, to Esperanza, the Wikipedia member association! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.
Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is the StressUnit, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. Redwolf24 runs the spam to keep members up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.
In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Possibles.
I encourage you to take an active voice in the running of Esperanza. We have a small government system, headed by our Administrator general, Celestianpower, and guided by the Advisory Committee comprised of FireFox, Flcelloguy, Titoxd, and Karmafist. The next set of elections will be in February, and I would be glad to see you vote, or even consider running for a position.
If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact Celestianpower by email or talk page or the Esperanza talk page. Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!
Cheers, Sango123 (talk) 21:08, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Another Esperanzial note...
Hi again Esperanzians! Well, since our last frolic in the realms of news, the Advisory Council has met twice more (see WP:ESP/ACM2 and WP:ESP/ACM3). As a result, the charter has been ammended twice (see here for details) and all of the shortcuts have been standardised (see the summary for more details). Also of note is the Valentines ball that will take place in the Esperanza IRC channel on the 14th of February (tomorrow). It will start at 6pm UTC and go on until everyone's had enough! I hope to see you all there! Also, the spamlist has been dissolved - all Esperanzians will now recieve this update "newsletter".
The other major notice I need to tell you about is the upcoming Esperanza Advisory Council Elections. These will take place from 12:00 UTC on February 20th to 11:59 UTC on February 27th. The official handing-over will take place the following day. Candidates are able to volunteer any time before the 20th, so long as they are already listed on the members list. Anyone currently listed on the memberlist can vote. In a change since last time, if you have already been a member of the leadership, you may run again. Due to the neutrality precident, I will not vote for anyone.
Yours, as ever, Esperanzially,

[edit] Old Skool Esperanzial note
Since this isn't the result of an AC meeting, I have decided to go Old Skool. This note is to remind you that the elections are taking place now and will end at 23:50 UTC on 2006-04-29. Please vote here. Thanks. --Celestianpower háblame 20:42, 23 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your signature
Your signature is not working (it only links to Esperanza, not your user page). Try using this code instead: Mitt<font color=green>;;e</font>rnacht 90. That produces Mitternacht 90 (where the 90 links to your talk page). smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 18:40, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

cool! It works! :D
[edit] A short Esperanzial update
As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.
As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.
Thanks and kind, Esperanzial regards, —Celestianpower háblame 16:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fish articles
I'm wondering if you are interested in helping to improve some of the fish related articles. I'm thinking about starting a wiki-project to help these types of articles, and I thought you might be interested. QuizQuick 22:49, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
- Hey, that's great! I'm actually focusing most on Goldfish right now. There's enough info for the article, but I'd really welcome any help I could get in organizing the sections- ie wikifying certain parts, improving the prose, and adding more citations. By the way I'm trying to get it selected as an Article of the Day (third attempt) :). Thanks! QuizQuick 21:18, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
- P.S. if your gonna make a wiki project with fish can i be an admin
Sure!
By the way, you seem like a very sciency person (take that as a compliment if you must) :). QuizQuick 23:16, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
- Here's the link to the wikiproject page. Wikiproject: Improving Fish Articles. If you can get other people to join too, that'd be great! QuizQuick 23:33, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:IMG 0146.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:IMG 0146.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 21:08, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

Please don't remove talk page comments again, it's considered vandalism. If you want to archive old comments, make sure they are not a currently active discussion by checking the edit history. Thanks. --Badharlick 16:42, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
What? How did I delete them? Sorry, I didn't know what I did.

[edit] Stegosaurus
Hi Mitternacht!
I'm planning to send Stegosaurus to Featured Article candidacy. The article failed its first nomination, but user:Casliber and I have been hard at work fixing stuff. As you're listed as a member of Wikipedia: WikiProject Dinosaurs, I figured I'd drop you a line and see if there was anything you thought should be added/removed/cited on the article before it is sent to FAC. We definitely want it to pass! :)
(Feel free to make any edits on the article itself, comment on the talk page, or leave a note on my talk page
). Thanks for your time, Firsfron of Ronchester 19:40, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] New dinosaur category
Hi Mitternacht,
I see you're adding a new category to various dinosaur genera. However, since most dinosaurs were named during the 20th Century, this means for the sake of completeness, the category would have to be added to over 1,000 dinosaur articles. Since this is a huge project, before you add any more, could we start a discussion on the feasibility of this new category before it is added to hundreds of pages? Perhaps at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Dinosaurs? Best wishes, Firsfron of Ronchester 23:21, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
oh sorry, I won't do it again1 :( --Mitternacht90 03:22, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- Oh, it's not that you shouldn't do it again, but when a category like that will likely affect hundreds of articles, it's a good idea to talk it over with the group, if possible. Anyway, take care. :) Firsfron of Ronchester 04:15, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- Would you mind if I submit it for deletion? It's just sitting there. J. Spencer 02:37, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
Later, too busy with my forum.
[edit] Marine Park Empire
Why did you add the gallery tag to the marine park empire page? Now I can't see the images (you probably can't either) and I have to now change back. What was the point? It was fine how it was. --Cuddly Panda 22:13, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
I can see them. Sorry! Jeez. LOL.
[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Megayanma.png)
Thanks for uploading Image:Megayanma.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. [edit] Biological Value
I noticed you appear to be involved in biology articles or WikiProjects relating to biology and human processes. This article, on a method for evaluating biological utilizations rates of proteins in humans and animals, was started in August and is in need of the attention of an expert. We are having trouble locating one and the article desperately needs it. This method is used constantly in bodybuilding magazines and products and is the subject of much misinformation and half-truths. On the other hand it does appear to have some value. Please help if possible. In case you're wondering why I picked you I just looked through some Science WikiProjects and biology articles and your name appeared a lot in one or both categories. Incidentally if you decide not to do this for whatever reason there's no need to reply. I'll just take it you're busy or uninterested and leave it at that. Thanks.
