A drop saw is an entirely different thing and has an abrasive cut-off wheel for cutting steel.

This is where we get into the old argument of "what we call things around here". It's a pointless debate. The only solution I can see, unless someone wants to try to come up with a definitive list of who calls what where, is to let people redirect their alternate terms to where they think they should go and let later editors create disambiguation pages if they think they are required. For what it's worth, where I come from, a drop saw is an electric mitre saw in which the blade is 'dropped' onto the wood being cut. They usually allow for mitred cuts in the horizontal plane only, as opposed to a sliding compound mitre saw (SCMS), which they otherwise resemble. A cut-off saw is actually a common term for an electric saw resembling a mitre saw which uses an abrasive wheel to cut steel. The link provided above is not what I would call a cut-off saw.
