Mitzpe Hila ( Hebrew: מצפה הילה) is a communal settlement in the western Galilee hills region of northern Israel, located near the Lebanese border. It is part of the Ma'ale Yosef regional council. The small, green village is a popular retreat for Israelis seeking bed and breakfasts or rental cabins [1]. Nearby towns include Ma'alot and Karmiel.
;In the 1990's, Katyusha missiles fired by Hezbollah landed in Mitzpe Hila.[2]
Mitzpe Hila is the hometown of 19 year old Cpl. Gilad Shalit, who was captured on June 25, 2006 by Palestinian militants. Cpl. Shalit's family was one of the founding members of the community.[3]
