Mitsubishi KE engine

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Mitsubishi KE engine is a range of powerplants produced by Mitsubishi Motors during the 1960s. They were extensively used in the various Colt-branded vehicles the company produced from 1963.

The first digit after the KE denotes the number of cylinders, and with one exception all the engines were OHV iron-block straight-4s from 1.0 L to 1.5 L, hence KE4x. A sole SOHC 2.0 L straight-6 based on the KE-series was also developed in 1964 for the new Mitsubishi Debonair flagship sedan, codenamed KE64.
