[edit] Wikipedia:WikiProject Turkic
A Wikiproject created just today; note that this is not WikiProject Turkey or WikiProject Azeri, which both refer to countries. This is instead a reference to the Turkic peoples, a racial group within those countries. Comments from the project's creator make it quite clear that this exists merely to push an agenda. Besides, this creates a dangerous precident (I shudder to think of the day we see WikiProject Aryan). --InShaneee 22:19, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
- Delete per nom. What is next? WikiProject Caucasian? WikiProject Mongoloid? This is absurd. --ManiF 22:40, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
- Delete. The motivation for such a creation is purely nationalism and not scientific. That is why the user who created it:[1] says: Remember brother we are Bir millet iki devlet which refers to pan-turkist nationalism that claims Azerbaijani republic and Turkey are one people with two governments. I am not sure if this is the opinion of minorities or even majorities in these countries. Either way, the point proves that such a project was not created to enhance the scientific quality of Wikipedia articles but to push nationalism. Next thing you know, White Europeans can claim that they are racially one people and hence deserve one project. Such projects are by themselves discriminating and exclusive as their nationalistic bias and basis alienates participants with different POVs.--alidoostzadeh 00:00, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
- Delete Per nom. If this stays, I would gladly participate in a WikiProject Aryan.--Eupator 04:20, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

- Delete - not only fails NPOV, goes further to seem to completely defy it. Badbilltucker 13:07, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

- Comment The creator and sole contributor of that page has in the meantime blanked it with a summary of "I agree" ([2]), so I think we can take that as another delete vote, and probably even one that would justify an early close here. Fut.Perf. ☼ 22:01, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
- Delete as per everyone else...this wikiproject reaks of pan Turkism.Khosrow II 22:05, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
