Route 73 is a highway in southwest Missouri. It serves as a cut-off from Buffalo (its southern endpoint as U.S. Route 65) to the Lake of the Ozarks region. Its northern endpoint is at U.S. Route 54 southwest of Camdenton.
Missouri 73 was originally part of Route 15 until 1926 when the U.S. Route System was established and a significant part of Missouri 15 became U.S. Route 54 leaving the southern most section cut off to become the new highway. The highway is two-lanes for its entire length.
[edit] Route of the highway
Missouri 73 begins at US 54 southwest of Camdenton with a control city listed as Springfield as the road serves as a cut-off for traffic heading from Lake of the Ozarks without having to travel further west to US 65. The highway heads south and has an intersection with Route 64 at Pumpkin Center. At Buffalo, Missouri 73 begins a concurrency with Route 32, turning west. The two highways are joined for one mile to US 65 where Missouri 73 ends.
