The Missouri History Museum is located in St. Louis, Missouri in Forest Park. The museum is operated by the Missouri Historical Society and was founded in 1866. Its campus includes the Jefferson Memorial Building, built in 1913 with profits from the Louisiana Purchase Exposition. In 2000, the museum completed the Emerson Center, a significant addition boosting attendance and exhibition capacity. Admission to most of the museum's facilities is free; however, some exhibitions require the purchase of tickets.
