The Mississippi gubernatorial election, 2007 will be held on November 6, 2007. Whoever wins the 2007 election for Governor of Mississippi will serve from December 2007 through December 2011.

Current Republican Governor Haley Barbour has announced that he will seek reelection on February 8, 2006. In that announcement, he also dispelled rumors that he would seek the 2008 Republican nomination for the presidency.

As of November 2006 Barbour has a 59% approval rating and a +23% "net" approval rating [1].

The filing deadline was March 1, 2007, and the primary is August 7, 2007. A poll shows Barbour leading Bill Renick, one of his supposedly stronger challengers, 65% to 35%.
